Bulletin #: I2020-024
Date: Mar. 12, 2020
To: Ontario Soccer; District Membership, ORA, Associate Members
Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer, have been monitoring the most recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the emerging public health crisis.
Following discussions with the national governing body, input from relevant government agencies and medical experts, Ontario Soccer has made the difficult decision to immediately suspend all sanctioned soccer activities in the province until further notice.
Ontario Soccer sanctioned activities include, but not limited to, all competitions, training, coach and match official education and team building activities.
To ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches, match officials and administrators, Ontario Soccer recommends that all Districts, Clubs and Academies communicate to their members that they will cease operations indefinitely.
The offices of Ontario Soccer will be closed to the public during this period but staff will be available through email or phone to assist where necessary. The Ontario Soccer Centre will be closed to the public until further notice.
Ontario Soccer will continue following the guidelines set forth by the public health authorities, government agencies and soccer governing bodies.
Updates will be issued as appropriate and will include further details as warranted.
If you have any further questions, please contact Patty Forbes, Director, Administration.

Due to a wet spring, poor field conditions and keeping player safety in mind the decision has been made to delay the house league season by one week to the week of Monday May 27. The end of the season will also be moved to the week of July 29 to give all players the full 10 weeks of soccer.
Coaches will be contacted shortly and full details and schedules will be made available online when they become available.
Although we are bummed that the house heague season is delayed one week we are still very excited for the upcoming Canada Soccer Active Start Soccer Fest at Maple Leaf Park on May 25 and 26 for U6-U12 teams!
Watch for festival and House League game schedules to be posted in the coming days.
Due to a scheduling conflict and limited volunteer resources, we will be moving our Future Stars program (U8-U12) from Monday evenings at Fleming 7:00-8:00 p.m. to Saturday mornings at Maple Leaf Park from 9:00 -10:00 a.m.
The Future Stars program will now run June 1st – August 17th (10 sessions) at Maple Leaf Park only.
There will be NO Future Stars on holiday long weekends (June 29th or Aug 3rd).
We are very sorry if this causes any inconvenience and if you are unable to attend the new time on Saturdays, please send us an email and we will arrange to have a full refund of $125.00 issued to you (please include your player’s name and date of birth (and original order number if applicable) so we can issue the refund).
Thank you for you understanding and again please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this causes – this change couldn’t be helped!
We are a month into registration for Recreational – House League and several of our teams are fully rostered and many others are filling fast.
As a Club, we want to provide all children with opportunities to play soccer. Unfortunately, the Club is limited by the number of fields it can use and cannot accommodate all children. For this reason, we use a first come, first served registration system. Once an age group/location is filled, we close registration for that age group/location.Waiting or cancellation lists are not kept because we don’t want to build expectations that spaces will open up – it is our experience that spaces don’t open up. So, our recommendation is that you register as soon possible and avoid disappointment.
If you make an inquiry to Maple Leaf Cavan FC and you don’t get an immediate response, please remember that our Club is operated by volunteers. We ask for your patience: we will get back to you. If you are interested in being part of our house league organizing team please email email@example.com.
We look forward to seeing you on the pitch in May!
