Cavan FC / Crestwood Edge Soccer and Sports Camp

The Cavan FC Sports Camp ~ Powered by Crestwood Edge, is excited to be offering this amazing camp for the third year in a row.  Maple Leaf Soccer and the Crestwood Edge program are proud to partner up again to bring you this amazing community building opportunity.

Please register as soon as you can as we have sold out the last 2 years.  We are looking forward to seeing returning campers as well as welcoming new campers.

You can expect soccer to be a big part of the day, however, we offer a lot of variety to help build happy campers.  Campers should expect soccer skills focused sessions in the morning followed by soccer gameplay in the afternoon.

Throughout the day, campers will experience a wide variety of activities such as basketball, badminton, capture the flag, mat ball, relay games, minute to win it, amazing race, water games and of course the popular “backpocket games” to name just a few.

Our camp has some of the best facilities around.  We have our huge field areas as well as use of indoor gyms.  Rain, shine, hot or cold, we are set up to have fun all day long.

We also take pride in making our camp very competitively priced so it can be accessible to  all.

We strive to make the camp safe and fun while developing important skills; physically, socially and emotionally. We believe in offering variety and developing all aspects of our campers.

Camp Instructors

Our staff have loved working at the camp the past two summers.  We continue to have returning staff.  Our original Program Directors; Ava Richardson and Bella Bowen, will be back again this summer.  Ava and Bella have a wealth of soccer and sport experience. Both are heading off to play varsity soccer in the upcoming school year.

In addition to this, we hire senior high school and recently graduated students who have incredible sports backgrounds, love working with children, and have an endless supply of energy and enthusiasm.  We know that councilors and staff make the biggest difference in the campers’ experience and that a great staff is the key to running a successful camp.  In addition to this we have an adult supervisor on site at all times who also takes care of the behind the scenes tasks that help keep the camp organized and running smoothly.

We can’t wait to see you this summer!

Camp FAQ

1. Does the camp only focus on soccer?

No, although the focus will be soccer we recognize the importance of providing children the opportunity to explore and learn all fundamental movement skills by playing small-sided games because games teach and are motivational. Campers will play small sided games to expand their soccer skills for about half the day. The remainder of the time will be filled with activities to grow their catching, striking, wheeling, and jumping, like bench ball, baseball, basketball, strikeball, cricket, capture the flag, various relays, ultimate, and other Low Organized Games (LOG’s).

2. Is the camp outdoors all day?

Yes a large chunk of our days will be outdoors on the soccer fields, so come prepared. However, we do have use of the school gymnasiums, cafeteria and classrooms. This is great when we want to focus on indoor activities, in case of rain, or during extreme heat.

3. Will the camp be the same each week?

The general program will be similar each week. Some activities, other than soccer, may change slightly. Our counselors will target soccer activities to the level of the campers.

4. The camp is for 6 to 12 year olds, will they be together all day?

Some activities may be done as a whole group, however, for most of the day campers will be divided into 6 to 8 year olds and 9 to 12 year olds. However, if the number permits there may be an opportunity for 1 or 2 age range cohort groupings.
